the wetland filter and intake bay system

The Wetland Filter

The wetland filter is essentially the same thing as our traditional biofalls, just sized for larger ponds!  The wetland filter allows beneficial bacteria to colonize, consuming the nutrients in the water that otherwise would lead to increased algae growth.  The wetland also filters toxins, making the water quality better.

The Intake Bay

The intake bay is similar to traditional pond skimmers - it will act as a mechanical filter to remove floating debris from the pond, which otherwise would sink to the bottom and reduce the quality of the water.  Because of the added surface circulation, intake bays also work great to remove filamentous algae or duckweed.
